About CenterCare

Founded in 1988 by a coalition of community health centers, CenterCare was among the very first plans in New York City to care for those on Medicaid. In the fall of 2005, CenterCare became a subsidiary of Fidelis Care New York, and was merged completely into Fidelis Care on August 1, 2008.

Initially licensed to serve only Manhattan, CenterCare expanded its coverage area to include all five boroughs. In addition to Medicaid managed care, we also offer New York State's Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus programs.

CenterCare members are served by Fidelis Care's statewide network of more than 39,000 providers throughout New York City and New York State.

CenterCare's model of primary care is community focused and community involved: health care that is based on what an individual needs, and not what he or she can afford to pay. In this way, CenterCare serves as a vital link between people, neighborhoods, doctors, community health centers, and hospitals.

That is why we are at the center of our members' healthy lives.
